What do you mean, Taersx? So you are sure it isn't a precept of the Church?

I think like people over 13 or something have to give up stuff for Lent and people over 18 or something have to fast on fast days.

Taersx- Well, I know that, for example, fasting on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are required, and abstaining from meat on all Fridays during Lent is required.
But I'm not sure "giving something up" is required, perhaps it is just a pious devotion?

Find me the information in either a Catechism or Canon Law.
Until then, I'm pretty sure it isn't required. (Not that it isn't a good idea, I just don't think it is required by the law).
